Nagaoka and Shopping at Urasa

I managed to go to Nagaoka afterall! Kate, Katie and I went up to Nagaoka in Kate’s car for a girls’ shopping trip. Bought cheap stuff from UNIQLO (a cheap clothing and accessories chain in Japan). Oh, check out this carpark in Nagaoka city. You drive your car into this slot, the parking attendant gives you a ticket, pushes a button and your car disappears! Its like a giant ferris wheel filled with cars. Parking isn't cheap though! It was 150-yen (approx. S$2.20) for every 30 mins. But such carparks are only in the cities. In the more rural areas, you get large sprawling open-air carparks, like the one at IMM back home.

Nothing terribly fascinating about Nagaoka. Its just a small city. The shopping can't compare to what we have in Singapore but is definitely much much better to the shops available at my town.

The good thing about being in my town is that I won't be spending on clothes, shoes and bags coz there are only like 2 clothes shops on the other side of the train station and the stuff they sell are awful man! I tend to stay on my side of town which is limited to Yummy ice-cream parlour, supermarket, good bakery that does cute doraemon, kitty-chan and totoro buns, and 2 hardware stores in terms of shopping. When I need my shopping fix, you should see me meticulously going through every aisle in the supermarket and hardware store! Hey, the hardware store sells pretty cool stuff ok? (Yes, I'm sounding like a country bumpkin already...)
