My brand new keitai (cellphone)!
No school today because of the Hakkai-san hike yesterday.
I just got myself this snazzy cellphone. It's a small and square clamshell (flip phone). Has this mod look with small square textures under a clear coat of varnish. Check it out!

The key feature of this cellphone is its music quality. It can double up as an MP3 player (uses memory stick) and has an FM tuner. It also has a camera, but the resolution is only 320,000 pixels. As with all other Japanese cellphones, instead of SMS, it will have mobile email. So, you guys in Singapore can send me an email (I will have a separate email address for the phone), I will receive it on my phone and can reply to you via email using the phone as well. I can also email my friends in Japan on their mobiles (that part is like SMS).
I chose the phone because I liked it best (based on looks, size and functions) among all the free phones available (if you take a one-year contract). I was told that I only needed to pay for the phone charger which cost 600-yen. But after collecting the money from me, the shop returned me even more money than I paid them! There was no mistake about that apparently! I had no idea what the lady was trying to tell me but she kept asking me to take the money, so I did. So in the end, I got paid slightly over 900-yen (S$13) for the phone!! It's so bizarre but such a great deal too! The phone came with a handsfree set and a 64MB memory stick. And it's is not like some ancient model...has only been out in the market for about half a year.
YAY! :)

yeah, i think it's cool too. But I've got to figure out how to use it first. Everything's in Japanese!
I figure I can bring it back and use it as an MP3 player after I'm done with Japan. heh.
