Its a long weekend because Monday is Respect for the Aged Day and I'm spending it in Tokyo!
Today, my friend Iris and I decided to go on a day trip to Yokohama! It takes only 30 mins to get to Yokohama from downtown Tokyo by train.

Ok, ok, here's a photo of the bridge proper...

Yokohama is a very cosmopolitan city. The shopping streets are very European looking - small boutiques lining cobblestone pedestrian walkways. There's one area by the port called Minato mirai (literally translated to mean port of the future) that has large shopping malls and a theme park with a huge ferris wheel, rollercoaster rides, etc.

The Japanese are crazy over their dogs. They spend sooo much on their dogs. In Japan, there are dog spas, dog bakeries, dog cafes, dog everything! See what this crazy lady did to her dog...she was very happy that I wanted to take a photo of her dog...
