Kyoto

Actually managed to book a tour of the Kyoto Imperial Palace, but we got lost trying to find the right subway line in the massive Kyoto station and were 10 mins late for the tour, which had already started :(

Walked around the Imperial Palace park which had many cherry trees in full bloom.

Then we went to the Heian Shrine (was shown in Lost in Translation). Very big compound, very bright colours. It's nice, but I don't think it's particularly fantastic.
