Learning to drive all over again

Taking driving lessons in preparation for my driving test on Wed. Japan recognises the international driving licence only for your first year, so you have to get a Japanese licence after that. I'll have to take a written test and drive around the test circuit. The difficult part is the test circuit because there are so many rules and things you have to do. After checking with people, the best way it seemed was to take lessons to learn the Japanese way of driving.

The lessons were a pain! There're just so many inane procedures. My biggest takeaway: "makikomi"... means check your blind spot! :)

The most ridiculous thing is that I drove 40km to get to the driving school which is right next to the test circuit!
