みらい Mirai

After skiing and the Naked Men Festival, we stayed overnight at みらい Mirai, a traditional farm house which is now a guesthouse, in the very rural town of 松代 Matsudai.

The best part of Mirai is the large private 露天風呂 rotemburo (outdoor bath) with a view of the mountains. It is made of a kind of wood (which no one knew the English name of) that supposedly smells good (but I didn't smell a thing!).

(L-R) Hisashi, Taka and Bambi-chan in the outdoor bath. We had a mixed session as well (with towels wrapped around ourselves, of course!). It was quite funny. Initially, it was really difficult to look at each other when we talked, but it was ok later on.
