Diving at Yonaguni (Day 2)

All 3 dives today were hammerhead-hunting dives. This is the season when you can see hammerhead sharks (called ハンマー hammaa in Japanese) in Yonaguni. We dived in the open sea (no coral walls, no seabed in sight...only you and the deep blue) in search for hammerheads.

First dive was a success!! We saw a school of about 20 hammerheads about 10m away from us. The hammerheads were about 3m long. Some of them were quite fat...the dive guide said that those might be pregnant. Didn't get any good shots of the hammerheads, sorry.

Our second and third dives were disappointing. Saw nothing except for blueness and the occasional passing school of fish. The sea was really rough. The boat couldn't come close to us so we had to pull ourselves toward it using a rope. Then we had to climb up the rocking boat with our fins on. Urghs...really hard work!

Dear Manami-san cooked a really good dinner to reward us for our hard work! (There was yellow carrot! Tastes just like carrot ;P)
