Went with Germ, his friend Gian and Gian's wife Jessica to Tamagawa (in the suburbs of Tokyo) for a lunch BBQ. The place was packed with Japanese families who'd set up all kinds of luxurious tents, shelters, tables and chairs for their BBQs.

It was a lovely day. People were playing baseball catch, badminton, fishing by the river, sunbathing, etc.

Germ brought his dog, Pooper, and Gian and Jessica brought their dog, Enzo. The dogs were so hot that Pooper refused to walk.
So, we had Gian's newly-bought BBQ pit and charcoal but no firestarters or lighter! Seeing that we were tearing up paper towels to be used in place of firestarters, the family next to us kindly donated a few pieces of firestarters, so we asked to borrow their lighter as well! Haha! Finally got a fire going...
We had teriyaki scallop satay, chicken tikka satay, prawn satay...

...pork chops, BBQ sambal fish, sandwiches, mango pudding, and custard puffs. YUM!
Then we went to a cafe in the nearby Kichijoji city, which was where Germ and Gian stayed at when they were studying in Tokyo Uni. Check out the bunny pattern on Jessica's coffee...so cute!
For dinner, Gian brought us to a great little restaurant in Hamamatsucho. It was done up in traditional Japanese style.
The restaurant is famous for its chicken wings, which were REALLY GOOD!
Look! There were even posters in the restaurant showing how you should eat the chicken wings.
Fried chicken skin dumplings. The dumplings were wrapped in chicken skin then fried. Eww! I didn't like this.
Another speciality of the restaurant. Can't remember what you call it. Basically chicken and cabbage that you stir fry on a hot plate. You can choose the sauce you want to cook it with and add ingredients and toppings. It was good lah, but I preferred the chicken wings. :)
